A Lehigh Acres woman was arrested after deputies say she hit a 1-year-old girl with the rear bumper of her car Sunday afternoon.Deputies responded to 2090 41st St. S.W. #A, Golden Gate, after receiving reports that a child was struck by a car. Witnesses told deputies that Krista Danelle Orick, 19, did not see the girl while backing out of the driveway and accidentally hit her.
Reports said the child's mother yelled at Orick to get her to stop backing up, but Orick could not hear the warning because she was playing her music too loud.
The girl was transported to a local hospital.
Deputies discovered that Orick has a suspended license and is a habitual traffic offender.
Orick was charged with driving under a suspended license as a habitual traffic offender and driving under a suspended license while causing serious injury.
