An 18-year-old man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he told friends he was going to break into an East Naples residence Wednesday and then did it.Meekee Charles, 4916 Verity Lane, East Naples, was charged with burglary.
Arrest reports say the victim’s son told deputies that he was inside his residence at 4915 Cortez Circle around 6 p.m. when he heard someone knock at the front door. He did not answer.
He said he looked out the kitchen window and saw Charles inside the lanai prying the sliding glass door open with his hands. He yelled at Charles, “What are you doing?” Charles then ran away, reports said.
He told deputies that he used to be friends with Charles and that several people had told him earlier in the day the Charles had planned to break into his house, reports said.
