SUMMARY: CarFit is an interactive hands-on safety program that offers adults 65 and older the opportunity to check how their personal cars “fit” them.
Trained professionals will lead senior drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicle. They will recommend adjustments and adaptations to make vehicles “fit” better and enhance driver safety.
Members of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Collier County Community Traffic Safety Team will perform the demonstrations.
People 65 and older are the fastest-growing population in the United States. By 2030, one in five drivers will be 65 or older. Motorists 65 and older are driving more miles and for more years. Improving their fit in their vehicle can help make them safer on the roads.
