Handyman Charged With Burglary

A handyman was arrested and charged with stealing from his employer Tuesday after the victim drove to his residence and found her computer and cameras inside.

Stephen Ronald Buck, 43, 10621 Rosemary Drive, Bonita Springs, was charged with burglary and grand theft.

Karalynn Hatz, 48, reported on May 20 that jewelry, electronics and cash were missing from her residence at 628 110th Ave. N. in Naples Park, according to sheriff’s reports.

Hatz told deputies that she confronted Buck, her handyman of five years, about the missing items and he appeared nervous, reports said. Due to his behavior, she later drove to his residence in Lee County, reports said.

Buck’s roommate let Hatz inside, where she found a digital and video camera that belonged to her as well as her Dell computer and her camouflage bag in the living room, reports said.

Further investigation by deputies found that Buck made four pawn transactions matching Hatz’s missing jewelry on Feb. 12 and March 16, reports said.
