CCSO Releases More Details In Damas Case

In response to media requests, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information in the Damas case:

Deputies discovered Guerline Damas’ body inside a bathroom on the first floor of the residence at 864 Hampton Circle, North Naples, last week. The children’s bodies were found upstairs.

Michzach, 9, was found in a bedroom on the second floor in the southwest corner of the residence. Marven, 6; Maven, 5; Megan, 3; and Morgan, 11 months, were discovered in an adjacent bedroom.

While the Collier County Medical Examiner’s Office ultimately determines official cause of death and the medical examiner’s investigation to do so in this case was still under way Thursday, it was apparent to CCSO investigators that all six victims suffered sharp force injuries to the neck area.

Crime scene investigators have recovered a knife believed to be the murder weapon from within the residence.

Mesac Damas’ 2001 black GMC Yukon Denali has been processed.

Mesac Damas continued to be lodged in the medical housing area of the Collier County jail on Thursday, where he is on strict suicide precautions. He is not allowed visitors other than his publicly appointed attorney due to his high-risk status.

He has been held in the jail on six counts of premeditated first-degree murder since Tuesday night following his release by Haitian authorities on Tuesday afternoon.
