CCSO ‘On Scene’ Debuts Today

Starting today, citizens will be able to get an up-close look at the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and learn about public safety from the comfort of their living room.

“On Scene,” a monthly television show produced by CCSO, will air on the Collier County government’s Collier TV, located at Comcast channel 97, and the Collier County School District’s Education Channel, at Comcast channel 99.

The first show features a segment on CCSO’s Everglades District, a look at CCSO’s ongoing partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, important information about Halloween safety, a public service announcement about the dangers of texting while driving and more.

Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk said the concept for the show was born during a series of meetings he had with community members across the county in the spring. Residents told Sheriff Rambosk they wanted more information about what the agency is doing and how they can help keep their neighborhoods and roads safe.

“Our citizens are our partners in public safety, and they have made it very clear to me that they want to learn more about this agency and about crime prevention in general,” Sheriff Rambosk said. “This show is one of the ways we are reaching out to them.”

During the debut week it will run on channel 97 at 6 p.m. today through Friday. After that, viewers can find it by checking the listings at www.colliergov.net and clicking on the “Collier TV” icon. The show is set to air on the Education Channel this week at 12:40 p.m. today, 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, and 12:40 p.m. Friday.
