Estates Grow House Bust Nets $250K In Pot

A Golden Gate Estates man was arrested after deputies say they found 85 marijuana plants growing inside his home Thursday morning.

Jose Aguila, 42, 3470 4th Ave. N.E., was charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Deputies executed a search warrant at Aguila’s home around 8:10 a.m. They discovered two rooms were converted into a marijuana grow operation. Inside the rooms were the marijuana plants and indoor grow equipment including mylar, transformers, high intensity light bulbs, fans, and indoor cooling units.

Deputies say the marijuana has an estimated street value of $255,000.

The equipment is valued around $15,000, reports said.
