6 Deputies Graduate From Leadership Academy

Six first-line supervisors from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office recently graduated from the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute’s Florida Leadership Academy at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Miami.

Sgt. Sean M. Arthur, Sgt. Jim Baker, Sgt. Ronald Byington, Sgt. Paul Cabral, Sgt. Bryan Sawyer, and Sgt. Jason Wrobleski were among 24 graduates representing police departments, sheriff offices, state agencies, and correctional facilities across Florida.

The Florida Leadership Academy prepares first-line supervisors in criminal justice organizations to exemplify the character and integrity expected of criminal justice professionals. The program examines the various components necessary to be an effective leader.

The goal of the academy is to prepare first-line supervisors in handling difficult dilemmas common in criminal justice, while providing tools in exercising sound judgment as a supervisor. Participants learn skills necessary to support the needs of their agency and needs within the community and prepare for the changes that lie ahead.
