Members of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Everglades area residents celebrated a day full of Christmas festivities on Friday, Dec. 17.
Santa arrived at the Everglades Community Center in style on a fire truck and helped out during the community’s annual toy giveaway. Everglades area boys and girls each had the chance to meet with and receive a gift from Santa.
Collier County Commissioner Jim Coletta along with other members of the community also celebrated the Christmas season during the Mayor’s Annual Appreciation Luncheon at the Seafood Depot in Everglades.
The festivities wrapped up in the early evening when the residents gathered around the Everglades City Hall to watch the official lighting of the Christmas tree.
