The Collier County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry have teamed up to host the inaugural Picayune Strand State Forest Day on April 2.
The event will celebrate 75 years of Florida state forests, while promoting safety in a fun way for the entire family. Representatives from CCSO will be on hand to share safety tips with the community. Kids can enjoy climbing the rock wall, playing on a bounce house and getting their faces painted by Robin Hood.
Visitors can also enjoy some barbecue, while listening to music by Mix 104.7 WSGL-FM radio.
Picayune Strand State Forest is located at 2121 52nd Ave. S.E. in Golden Gate Estates. The festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
