Interested in a law enforcement career?  The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is hiring.

CCSO is hosting a recruitment fair from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Coastland Center mall, 1900 U.S. 41 N.,  Naples.

This marks the agency’s first recruitment fair since 2007. Throughout the economic downturn, Sheriff Kevin Rambosk offered buyouts, reorganized and collapsed positions in order to reduce the budget. Over the course of four years he cut the budget by $20.6 million, for a cumulative reduction of $48 million.

With the economy stabilizing, the goal of the recruitment fair is to fill essential positions.

The fair will focus on four specific areas: road patrol deputies, jail deputies, dispatchers and positions in the Information Technology Division.

Throughout the fair, CCSO recruiters will be on site and available to answer questions about career options. In addition, the agency’s D.A.R.E. car, a Segway, an agency motorcycle and a K9 unit will be on display.

CCSO provides paid days off, sick days, health insurance and retirement through the Florida Retirement System. Some positions, such as road deputies, jail deputies and dispatchers require new hires to attend and complete an academy.  CCSO pays for the academy and the new member is paid while he or she attends.

The agency is seeking applicants who want a career.

“We are looking for positive, proactive, and enthusiastic applicants that support our core principles of community, safety and service,” said CCSO Human Resources Director Darlyn Estes. “The hiring and training process is extensive, so we are looking for individuals who are career minded.”
