CCSO, Collier Students Walk to School

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office helped ensure the success of the 13th annual International Walk to School Day recently. The event works to create safer routes for walking and bicycling and emphasizes the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion and concern for the environment. It also builds connections between families, schools and the community.

More than 150 students in the Immokalee area participated in this year’s Walk to School event.

The Community Traffic Safety Team along with Cpl. Daniel Muhlhahn and his K-9 partner Dewey promoted pedestrian and bicyclist safety by passing out reflective bracelets and backpacks filled with safety literature to the students at Naples Park Elementary, 685 111th Avenue N., North Naples.
