Two Charged With Stealing Friends Car

A North Naples man contacted deputies when he realized a friend stole his car while he was sleeping on Nov. 15, reports say.

A deputy saw the car pull into the Shell Food Mart at 6615 Dudley Drive with the headlights off. She followed the car into the parking lot and gave the two a warning as they were entering the store.

Before the deputy realized the car had been stolen, Yudisnel “Eddie” Codornius 20, of 1471 20th Ave. S.E., and Brian Nicholas Lobaina, 16, of 4420 6th Ave. S.E., ran out through a side door of the store, leaving the car behind.

On Dec. 3 deputies found Lobaina and charged him with grand theft auto.

Codornius was booked into the Naples Jail Center on Friday for a failure to appear charge and investigators charged him on Monday with grand theft auto.
