Missing Bricks Help Pave Way to Tire Thief

A Golden Gate man was arrested after deputies say he stole tires and rims from another man’s car.

William De La Rosa, 29, 2375 55th Terrace S.W. Apt. B, was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand theft.

Reports say Adrian Sigurani parked his car in the 4800 block of Whistler’s Green Circle in Golden Gate around 1 a.m. on Oct. 31, 2007. When he returned to his car around 7:15 a.m. it was missing all four custom rims and tires. The car was propped up on four brick pavers.

The right rear tire skirt was also missing and the left rear tire skirt had been damaged.
The rims and tires were valued at $3,100. The wheel skirts were valued at $100 each.

On Dec. 15, Edwin Sigurani Jr. called CCSO after he saw a white sport utility vehicle with the exact same rims and tires stolen from his brother’s car driving through the parking lot of the Sweetbay Supermarket, 4995 Golden Gate Parkway, Golden Gate. Sigurani followed the SUV to a residence in Golden Gate.

The car owner, Ivania Diaz, told deputies that her husband, De La Rosa, bought the wheels for her a few weeks ago from the ex-boyfriend of one of her cousins. She could not tell deputies how to contact the man.

A brick wall in front of De La Rosa’s residence matched the brick pavers that were holding up Sigurani’s car, reports said. Four pavers were missing from the wall.
