Five teenagers were arrested Wednesday after deputies say they punched and kicked a woman outside a home in Golden Gate.
Tiffany Anne Sousa, 19, 4085 N. Wilson Blvd., Golden Gate Estates; Jamie Ethier, 19, 4296 18th Place S.W., Golden Gate; and Francisca Sarrete, 18, 4830 Whistler’s Green Circle, Golden Gate, were charged with battery. The names of the other two teens are not being released because they are juveniles and charged with a misdemeanor.
Reports say Jacqueline Case, 20, told deputies she was shopping at the Winn-Dixie store, 4849 Golden Gate Parkway, with her boyfriend and 6-month-old child around 5:20 p.m. The five teens followed her into the store, where they verbally harassed her and followed her up and down the aisles.
When Case returned to her car, there were scratch marks and derogatory words scratched into it.
About 15 minutes later, Case arrived at her boyfriend’s house in the 4500 block of 17th Court Southwest in Golden Gate, where the five teens confronted her. One of the teens punched Case in the head while the others hit her with their hands and feet.
Case’s boyfriend Bob Choute told deputies he attempted to push the teens away from Case but they wouldn’t back off, so he gave her a bat to defend herself, reports said. Case told deputies she didn’t swing the bat because she didn’t want to get in trouble. She eventually managed to get the teens off of her.
