A man has been arrested on a federal indictment charging him with selling crack cocaine to an undercover Collier County sheriff’s investigator.
Issac Balkcom, 29, 420 S. 2nd St., Immokalee, was charged with possession with intent to sell over 5 grams of crack.
Reports say Balkcom sold 5 grams of crack to an undercover sheriff’s vice and narcotics investigator on March 2, 2007, and 11 grams of crack to an investigator on March 3, 2007. Both sales were made in Immokalee.
Investigators submitted the case to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for federal prosecution on Sept. 18, 2007.
A federal grand jury met Feb. 27 and handed up an indictment against Balkcom, finding probable cause for his arrest.
Federal marshals arrested Balkom on March 5 at the South Florida Reception Center in Dade County, where he was transported to the U.S. Marshals Service in Fort Myers pending his detention hearing.
