Neighbors watching neighbors. That's the philosophy of Neighborhood Watch.
There are easy steps residents can take to keep their neighborhood safe, from asking a neighbor to gather your mail while you're away on vacation to using lights as security. CCSO encourages that community teamwork to help neighborhoods from crime.
There are more that 100 active Neighborhood Watch programs in Collier County. The national program, created in California in 1972, has proven to be an effective deterrent in Collier neighborhoods.
