Aggravated Battery Arrest

A 21-year-old man was arrested on felony charges Sunday after deputies say he threw a wooden board at a man and hit another man in the head with a rock in North Naples.

Matthew Louis Pendarvis, 5296 19th Place S.W., Golden Gate, was charged with shooting a missile into a dwelling, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

Arrest reports say Stephen Schessler, 45, told deputies that Pendarvis threw a wooden board at him. He said Pendarvis was in a sport utility vehicle that was traveling up an down Rosemary Lane around 4 a.m.

Schessler said he heard a commotion, including glass breaking at a neighbor’s house. Schessler said he came outside armed with a shotgun and Pendarvis, who was holding a board, was standing by his mail box, reports said. When Schessler asked Pendarvis what he was doing there, Pendarvis told him to “mind his own business” and then threw the board at him, reports said.

Another neighbor, Christopher Ross, 19, told deputies he was asleep on the living room couch when he was awoken by a blow to the head from a rock that was thrown through the window, reports said. Witnesses told deputies they saw Pendarvis standing outside the living room window, reports said.
