CHARGES: Attempted murder, armed robbery

CRIME DATE: Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008

CRIME LOCATION: 323 S. 6th Court, Immokalee

SUMMARY: Howard and Jackson were arrested Sunday after deputies say they stabbed another man multiple times and then robbed him.

Arrest reports gave this account:

Cirio Lopez, 41, told deputies that he was walking along Colorado Avenue toward South 6th Court to get something to eat shortly before midnight Saturday when a gray Dodge Charger passed him and then turned around and headed in his direction.

Howard and Jackson got out of the Charger and approached Lopez, demanding he give them money.

Lopez ran toward a trailer on South 6th Court in an attempt to get help, but nobody was home.

Howard and Jackson caught up to Lopez and stabbed him at least 10 times with a kitchen knife. Howard and Jackson rifled through Lopez’s pockets, stealing his wallet and its contents.

Howard and Jackson got back into the Charger and drove away.

Deputies located Howard and Jackson in the Charger during a traffic stop on State Road around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, where they were arrested.

Lopez was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
