Deputies Ask For Help In ID'ing Man

Collier County sheriff's deputies are looking for the public's help in identifying a man found dead in a Golden Gate canal earlier this weekend.

DATE: Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, around 9:30 a.m.

LOCATION: Canal behind 2570 47th Terrace Southwest, Golden Gate

VICTIM: White man, unknown age. He stood around 5 feet 7 inches tall, with brown hair long enough to be worn in a ponytail and a light brown or reddish beard. He had a scar on the right side of his forehead.

SUMMARY: Deputies were called to a canal on 47th Terrace Southwest on Aug. 30. A man's body was found in the canal behind an empty lot at the above address.

The man wore tan pants, a black or dark blue long-sleeved button-down Tommy Hilfiger shirt and white sneakers. The investigation into the cause of the man's death continues.
