A man is facing felony charges after deputies say he stole nearly $3,000 worth of gold jewelry from his roommate, sheriff’s reports said.
Jorge Giovanni Timm-Martinez, 122 N. 7th St., Immokalee, was arrested Monday and charged with grand theft.
Arrest reports say Jorge Martinez, 40, told deputies that he was in his yard playing cards with friends around 7:30 p.m. when he noticed Timm-Martinez entering and leaving their trailer multiple times.
Martinez told deputies that Timm-Martinez arrived in Immokalee from Mississippi two weeks ago and has been living with him since.
Timm-Martinez left their residence and Martinez told deputies he went directly to his bedroom where he discovered his gold chains, bracelets, rings and other jewelry missing, reports said.
When deputies located Timm-Martinez a short while later at 205 W. Main St. he was wearing his roommate’s gold necklaces around his neck and four gold rings belonging to Martinez on his right hand, reports said.
