Deputies: Man Swung Rock At Neighbor

A 19-year-old man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he tried to hit a neighbor in the head with a rock during an argument at an East Naples apartment complex on Tuesday, sheriff’s reports said.

Manny Rivera, 8675 Barot Drive, Apt. 102, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Arrest reports say Brayan Guisandes, 20, told deputies that his neighbor Rivera came to his apartment in the Tuscan Isle complex around 5:30 p.m. and started banging on the door. Guisandes said he told Rivera to leave. Rivera became confrontational and yelled obscenities at Guisandes and his wife, Kathleen.

Reports said Rivera started to leave and Guisandes followed him down the stairs. Rivera then picked up a large rock and lunged toward Guisandes. Rivera swung the rock at Guisandes’ head but missed.

Rivera told deputies that Guisandes threw a glass bottle at his feet and that he had picked up the rock to defend himself, reports said.
