A 54-year-old man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he stole a stop sign following an accident in Naples Park on Sunday.Rayburn Lee Wilkerson, 833 95th Ave. N., Naples Park, was charged with grand theft of a stop sign.
Arrest reports say deputies received information that Wilkerson was dragging a stop sign from 95th Avenue North and Eighth Street into his driveway shortly after 1 p.m.
Deputies say Wilkerson told them he collided with the stop sign, knocking it over, to avoid being struck by another vehicle that ran the sign, reports said. He said he was going to keep it for a lawsuit or a souvenir, reports said.
