2 Charged With Robbing Pedestrian

A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday on charges that they robbed a man while he walked along a residential street in Immokalee in late October.

Betty Sue McCoullough, 39, and Porfirio Ponce Martinez, 35, both of 1508 Thomas Lane, Immokalee were charged with robbery and petty theft.

Arrest reports say Jose Bustamante, 28, told deputies that he was walking between two houses in the 200 block of North 3rd Street around 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 31 when Martinez approached him and punched him in his left eye.

Bustamante told deputies he fell to the ground and Martinez and another man, whom he did not recognize, punched and kicked him in his face and chest, reports said.
McCoullough searched Bustamante’s pockets and removed his wallet, reports said.

Deputies located McCoullough and Martinez in the 100 block of 1st Street on Tuesday and arrested them, reports said.
