Computer Theft Arrest

A 28-year-old man is facing felony charges after deputies say he stole a computer from an East Naples rental business.

Rhode Isme, 235 Manor Blvd., Apt. 1608, East Naples was arrested Monday on burglary and grand theft charges.

Isme is charged with breaking into Rent-A-Center, 2900 U.S. 41 E., on Aug. 16 and stealing a Dell desktop computer.

Arrest reports say a store employee told deputies that he was working in the back supply room about 1:20 p.m. when he heard what sounded like someone trying to leave the back room. The employee said he saw Isme carrying a computer monitor under one arm and a tower under the other, reports said.

The employee told deputies that he followed Isme outsisde in an attempt to stop him. Isme put the computer on the ground, put his hands in the air and said he was sorry. Isme then approached the employee and tried to punch him with his fist but missed, reports said.

The two men struggled briefly. Isme then got into the front passenger seat of a gold Toyota Camry that was waiting nearby and drove off, reports said.

The employee was able to get the license plate number of the Camry. Further investigation by deputies found the Camry was registered to Isme’s mother.

Deputies located Isme outside his apartment Monday, walking to a gold Camry that matched the description of the getaway car, reports said.
