Deputies Foil Tire Theft

Two men are facing felony charges after deputies caught them stealing tires from a North Naples business late Wednesday night, sheriff’s reports said.

Gustavo Adolpho Pena, 33, 1205 Reserve Way, Apt. 107, North Naples, and Enrique J. Solano of Weston were arrested and charged with burglary and petty theft. Solano was also charged with possession of burglary tools.

Arrest reports say deputies on patrol became suspicious upon seeing a green Nissan pickup parked in the back of Tires Plus, 4900 U.S. 41 N., around 11:30 p.m.

As deputies neared the truck, they spotted Solano crouched on a wall of an attached building with a tire in his hands which he dropped next to the pickup. Inside the open bed of the truck were 16 more tires, reports said.

Deputies found Pena inside the attached building, which is used to store used and scrap tires, crouched down near a large pile of tires, reports said.
