Prescription Was A Phony, Deputies Say

An East Naples man is facing drug charges after deputies say he presented a fraudulent prescription at a Collier County Wal-Mart pharmacy.

Kevin Gates, 33, 8519 Chase Preserve Drive, is charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Reports say Gates presented a pharmacist at the 6050 Collier Blvd. Wal-Mart with a prescription for Lortab written on a prescription slip dated Oct. 21 from Dr. Richard Saitta’s office. A pharmacy staff member called Saitta’s office to confirm the prescription but was told no prescription had been issued to Gates on that date, according to reports.

Gates was arrested Wednesday when he returned to pick up the prescription. In his car deputies found a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe containing burned marijuana residue, reports said.
