UPDATE: An 18-year-old East Naples resident has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s stabbing death of Jessie Van Davis.Adonis Vazquez, 18, 8675 Wheat Lane, Apt. 302, was charged with second degree murder. He turned himself in at the Golden Gate Substation.
Stabbing Victim Identified
UPDATE: The victim in a Tuesday night fatal stabbing in East Naples has been identified as Jessie Van Davis, 20, East Naples.
Investigators say Davis lived at 8680 Weir Drive, Apt. 107.
This is what happened, according to reports:
Deputies were called to 8670 Weir Drive at 8:12 p.m. to respond to a report of a fight in progress involving several subjects. As they were en route, they learned that someone involved in the fight had been stabbed in the chest.
When they arrived they found Davis in the parking lot. He was transported to Physicians Regional Hospital on Collier Boulevard, where he later died.
Witnesses at the scene provided information that identified a potential suspect. Deputies continue to look for that person.

Deputies Investigate Stabbing Death

Collier County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man in connection with an East Naples stabbing death.
The 20-year-old man was killed during a fight that broke out shortly after 8 p.m. at the 8600 block of Weir Drive, preliminary reports say.
Deputies are still searching for the suspect.
