Deputies: Man Broke Into Car, Stole Purse

A 19-year-old man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he broke into a woman’s car and stole her purse outside an East Naples apartment complex early Monday.

Jerry Lee Stainbrook, 2061 Rookery Bay Drive, Apt. 2201, East Naples, was arrested and charged with vehicle burglary and petty theft.

Arrest reports say Reba Dotson told deputies that she saw Stainbrook inside a friend’s vehicle that was parked at the Southbay Plantation apartment complex around 4 a.m. Monday.

Dotson told deputies that Stainbrook got out of the car and dropped a purse onto the ground and ran toward the back of one of the buildings in the complex.

The purse belonged to the owner of the vehicle, Jennifer Linaldi, who told deputies that $150 was missing from her purse, reports said.

Linaldi and Dotson both told deputies that they saw Stainbrook hanging around Linaldi’s vehicle shortly before the burglary took place, reports said.
