A 37-year-old man is facing felony charges after deputies say they watched him break into a landscaping trailer and steal equipment in North Naples on Monday.
Mario Echevarria, 3325 Airport-Pulling Road N., Apt. G6, North Naples, was charged with burglary and grand theft.
Arrest reports say deputies saw Echevarria walk up to a landscaping trailer that was parked near the Magnolia Square shopping plaza a the intersection of Goodlette-Frank and Pine Ridge roads and remove a white and orange hedge trimmer. Echevarria then walked back to his van, which was parked nearby, put the hedge trimmer inside and drive away.
Deputies followed Echevarria, who led deputies on a brief chase before bringing the van to a stop on Old U.S. 41 North, reports said.
Further investigation revealed Echevarria’s driver’s license was suspended and that he was on state probation for felony driving offenses, reports said.
Echevarria was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, resisting arrest and violation of state probation, reports said.
