The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has received a report of a man in a white sedan attempting to lure an 8-year-old boy into his car in Naples Park on Monday afternoon.
According to reports the boy was playing in a yard on 94th Avenue North at about 4:40 p.m. when a man pulled up in a white car. The man asked the boy’s age and then told him he had a friend who had a lot of toys. The man told the boy he would drive him to the friend’s house if the boy would get in the car with him.
The boy instead ran home and told his mother. When the mother looked outside she saw a white car, possibly a Cadillac. She was unable to see the driver or obtain a license plate number as the car drove away. The boy described the man as white, 45 to 55 years old with tanned skin.
The incident was reported to CCSO on Tuesday evening.
Children should avoid contact with strangers and report suspicious activity to a familiar adult immediately.
