Deputies: Man Used Metal Pipe in Robbery

A North Naples man was arrested after deputies say he robbed two men using a metal pipe Saturday night.

Reports say while he was riding his bicycle home from work Ricardo Gonzalez, 19, noticed he was being followed by a person later identified as Tyler Mullins, 21, 5570 Jonquil Lane Unit #106. Mullins then pulled into Gonzalez’s driveway on Washington Avenue, East Naples, and used a metal pipe to hit Gonzalez in the back of the head, according to reports.

Gonzalez’s friend, Eduardo Castro, 17, fought with Mullins and was hit with the pipe as well, reports said. Mullins managed to take off with Gonzalez’ work shirt that had $60 cash in a pocket, according to reports.

Deputies say they located Mullins at the Wendy’s parking lot, 2601 U.S. 41 E., and both victims identified Mullins as the man who attacked them.

Mullins was charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and two counts of aggravated battery.
