Deputies: Woman Called In Fake Rx

A 31-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after deputies say she called a local pharmacy pretending to be a member of a doctor’s staff and then placed an order for prescription painkillers for a fake patient.

Jennifer Nicole Garza, 678 108th Ave. N., Naples Park, was charged with prescription fraud.

Arrest reports say Garza called Walgreen’s pharmacy, 1100 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, on April 23 and misrepresented herself as a member of the staff of a North Naples medical practice.

During the call Garza ordered 60 10 mg Lortab pills for a fictitious patient, reports said.

After calling in the prescription, Garza went to the pharmacy and obtained the pills herself, reports said.

Garza met with Collier County sheriff's detectives Wednesday and was arrested.
