Man Charged In Restaurant Break-In

Deputies arrested a 46-year-old man and charged him with breaking into the Long John Silver’s restaurant in East Naples late Thursday night.

Reyes Ortiz, 5223 Collins St., East Naples, was charged with burglary of an occupied structure.

The restaurant manager told deputies that he was cleaning the restaurant, 3015 U.S. 41 E., around 10:30 p.m. when Ortiz came to the front door and asked him for $10. The manager told Ortiz to leave and then locked the door, arrest reports said.

A few minutes later the employee saw Ortiz climbing into the business through the drive-thru window. The employee pushed Reyes back through the window, reports said.

Deputies located Reyes on U.S. 41 East near Palm Lakes Trailer Park while they were driving to the restaurant to respond to a report of a burglary there, reports said.
