UPDATE: Deputies have arrested Mohammed A. Roche, 18, of Fort Myers, in connection with this shooting. Roche is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. Roche is going through the booking process at this time. His photograph is not yet available.

Deputies are investigating a shooting that took place at 6:27 p.m. Sunday at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway. The shooting happened during a Haitian Flag Day celebration. Investigators say the victim, who is about 19 years old, was transported by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers. Additional details will be released as they become available.
