Set Sail with the Coast Guard

The 7th Section, District 9 Division of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary hosts several boating courses in the Wiggins Pass area year-round.

These courses are for both the beginner and advanced boater. They are comprehensive and help to update basic skills, build confidence and teach students how to be better boaters.

The next course is Local Waters Knowledge. It takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16,. at 13531 Vanderbilt Road. The cost is $20 per person.

This class familiarizes boaters with Collier waterways from Wiggins to Matanzas pass.

The auxiliary also offers Boating Skills and Seamanship and GPS for Mariners courses, both which will begin in October.
