Deputies are investigating a seven-car accident on Pine Ridge Road near Interstate 75 that left one woman dead Saturday.
Deputies say the driver of a Chevrolet pickup traveling east on Pine Ridge Road near Whippoorwill Lane failed to stop for a red light around 10:45 a.m., striking six eastbound vehicles that were either stopped or slowing down to stop.
Tracy Cate, 32, 2217 Arbor Walk Circle, North Naples, the driver of one of the vehicles that was stopped or slowing down, died, deputies said.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, Riccardo Rivas II, 16, 2311 Pinewoods Circle, North Naples, was taken to a local hospital, deputies said.
An investigation continues.
