Woman Charged With Stabbing Man In Immokalee

A 29-year-old woman is facing a felony charge after deputies say she lit a can of spray deodorant on fire and threatened a man with it before stabbing him in the leg during an altercation in Immokalee early Monday.

Yelitza Ivette Santiago, whose address in Immokalee was not available on her arrest report, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Arrest reports say Andreas Rodriguez, 56, told deputies that Santiago came to his trailer at 300 Colorado St. around 3:45 a.m.

Santiago picked up a can of Rodriguez’s Axe spray deodorant and then lit it with a lighter, igniting the combustible contents of the can. She held the flammable mixture toward Rodriguez’s face and demanded money, reports said.

Santiago then took out a knife from her purse and threatened to kill Rodriguez. She stabbed him with the knife on the right leg, just below the knee, reports said.
