Deputies are conducting a homicide investigation in connection with the death of an Immokalee woman who was found injured in her yard Aug. 12.
Filomena Garay-Chavez, 23, 3833 State Road 29, died Saturday at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers. An autopsy was conducted Monday.
Deputies were called to her address around 2 a.m. after she was found bleeding and unconscious outside her home.
