Youth Relations Bureau Cpl. Luke Arnold has been honored with a CCSO Lifesaving Award.Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk recognized Arnold for going above and beyond the call of duty during the Aug. 3 Supervisors Meeting. Arnold was honored for applying his knowledge, dedication and sometimes fearlessness to do whatever is necessary to get the job done even when he is not on-duty.
Arnold was off duty on May 20 when he spotted a woman lying on the floor surrounded by a group of people at the Naples Hilton Hotel, 5111 U.S. 41 N. Arnold ran to the woman and determined she had no pulse and was not breathing.
He immediately began doing chest compressions until EMS arrived with a defibrillator.
The woman survived with no permanent damage due to Arnold’s ability to quickly determine he had to perform a lifesaving procedure.
