A North Naples man was arrested Monday night after deputies say he robbed two men who flew to Florida in order to buy a car from him.
Vidal Rendon, 21, 854 97th Ave., was charged with unarmed robbery.
This is what happened, according to reports:Two men told deputies on July 27 that they had just been robbed at at 15985 Arbor View Blvd., North Naples. Glen Primak, 23, and Alexei Rodinov, 22, told deputies they traveled from Pennsylvania after Primak made arrangements to purchase an Infiniti Q-45 for $11,500 with an online gamer only known as “Kane”.
Deputies say Primak and Rodinov met “Kane” at the Coastland Center Mall, hung out for awhile and then got into a car together.
They drove to an apartment complex on Arbor View Boulevard and were escorted by “Kane” through a breezeway, where Primak and Rodinov were met by two other men. One was wearing a mask. Rodinov reported “Kane” also put on a ski mask and ordered him to the ground. The suspects took their cell phones, wallets and the keys from the rental car and fled on foot.
Based on the victims’ description of “Kane” along with a fingerprint from inside the rental car, investigators determined that the “Kane” was actually Redon.
Rendon was located Monday night and charged with unarmed robbery. The investigation continues.
