Lowe’s and CCSO recently partnered in the name of hurricane preparedness at the Everglades for Senior Safety Day at Everglades Community Church.
As part of a community outreach program called Lowe’s Heroes, the store provided hurricane preparedness and home security items including hurricane supply backpacks, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and flashlights to anyone over 60 years old. CCSO Crime Prevention Specialists discussed home security, fire safety, medical services, hurricane evacuation and re-entry concerns.
Residents from Everglades, Chokoloskee, Plantation Island, Copeland and Jerome attended the event and got to choose two items of their preference from $3,000 worth of the donated supplies.
