WHAT: Anti-human trafficking event
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009
TIME: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
LOCATION: Immokalee Community Park, 321 N. 1st St. in Immokalee
SUMMARY: The Collier County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Collier County Coalition Against Human Trafficking will hold an anti-human trafficking community event called “A Day without Slavery.”
This event for seasonal farm workers and members of the community will provide information on human trafficking awareness and ways to identify victims of human trafficking.
Deputies from CCSO’s Immokalee substation, Minority Affairs Task Force and Crime Prevention Unit will also be on hand to provide information to the public on other programs the agency offers to the public. The Collier County Health Department and other service providers will be available to provide information and services to attendees.
There will be entertainment, refreshments and activities for children. Free bicycle lights will be available to anyone who would like one and who brings a bike to the event.
“A Day without Slavery” is open to everyone regardless of their immigration status. Identification won’t be checked.
