Arrest Made In Credit Union Robbery

UPDATE: Deputies arrested a 39-year-old Collier County man Tuesday and charged him with this robbery

Ubaldo Galan, 409 S. E.16th St., Immokalee, was charged with armed robbery, felony robbery committed using a hoax device and grand theft.

Deputies located Galan at Budget Inn, 504 E. Main St., Immokalee.

Galan was being booked into the Collier County jail Tuesday evening.

His arrest photo and arrest report will be released when they become available.

Immokalee Credit Union Robbed

Deputies are looking for a man who robbed an Immokalee credit union late Monday afternoon.

Deputies say the man walked into Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, 1504 Lake Trafford Road, around 5 p.m., placed a canister on the counter and demanded money. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the building, leaving the canister behind.

After examining the canister, deputies determined that it was harmless.

Witnesses describe the man as Hispanic with short, dark hair, a goatee and an average build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a long-sleeve reddish-orange shirt with a white shirt underneath and a blue hat that said “Corona.” He was carrying a black shoulder bag.
