Tips Lead To Arrest

Two anonymous tips from the community helped Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies identify a North Naples woman who was arrested Wednesday in connection with a theft from a bank ATM in early May.

REDACTED, 46, 5610 Marigold Way Unit 101, was charged with fraud – illegal use of credit cards and petty theft.

Tips such as these are valuable to law enforcement. CCSO has an ongoing “See It? Say It!” campaign to encourage the community to report tips and any unusual activity they encounter.

The tips came after deputies obtained bank surveillance photos of the suspect and distributed them to the media and Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. Both tipsters identified the suspect as a woman named Lulu who worked at an apartment complex across the street from the bank. One of the tips was telephoned to CCSO. The other was called in to Crime Stoppers.

Reports give this account of the incident that led to REDACTED’ arrest:

On May 5 a woman who used the ATM at the 5626 Tavilla Circle Bank of America did not close out the transaction upon completion and forgot to remove her ATM card from the machine. The person behind her, who was later identified as REDACTED, then pulled up and withdrew $100 from the woman’s account.
