CCSO, AHA Partner To Save Lives

Thanks to the generosity of the American Heart Association, if you or a loved one go into cardiac arrest in Collier County, help is as close as the nearest deputy.

All Collier County Sheriff’s Office patrol cars are equipped with an AED, or automated external defibrillator. An AED is a portable electronic device that treats sudden cardiac arrest by using electrical therapy to re-establish a heart rhythm. These life-saving pieces of equipment were purchased with donations to the American Heart Association.

Lives are being saved as a result of this partnership.

June 1-7 is National AED/CPR Awareness Week.

Currently, as each patrol car goes in for routine maintenance, an AED sticker is being placed on it so that everyone in our community can see how the American Heart Association is helping us keep Collier County a great place and a safe place.
