CCSO Launches Web TV Channel To Keep Community Informed

Want to find out about local arrests, get an up-close look at how the Collier County Sheriff’s Office keeps our community safe and even watch live streaming video of CCSO news conferences?

You can now do all that and more at www.ccso.tv. The web channel is part of Collier County Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk’s ongoing pledge to partner and connect with the community.

“I’ve always believed that an informed community is one of the most important elements of effective law enforcement,” Sheriff Rambosk said. “The more information our community has, the more they will be able to partner with us to keep Collier County safe.”

The site’s home page features the current episode of “On Scene,” CCSO’s monthly television show, along with other featured videos that focus on crime prevention tips, cold case profiles and more. In addition, www.ccso.tv offers a kids section and a teen section to help young people learn about everything from Internet safety to the dangers of texting while driving. The site also gives CCSO the ability to live-stream press conferences so that community members can watch them as they happen and see them in their entirety.

The new web channel is the latest in a series of CCSO initiatives designed to make it easier for the community to stay informed. In addition to www.ccso.tv, the agency uses Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, as well as www.colliersheriff.org and the Collier Star daily blog to spread news and safety information.
