Thank You, CCSO

The letter below was featured in the Naples Daily New's Letters to the Editor section.

Editor, Daily News:

One recent morning, my wife started out to get the newspaper.

She came running back in and told me there was an alligator at the front door (photo at left).

I called the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, and within minutes a deputy was at our house.

Minutes later, a second deputy arrived.

One deputy stood watch to keep spectators away from the gator in the driveway, while the second deputy directed traffic, as many neighbors were going to work.

Not long afterward another deputy (a trapper) arrived. It took a few minutes to capture the gator. The trapper said it was 7 to 8 feet long.

They all did their jobs very well and were quite friendly in doing so. In fact, our deputy brought the newspaper to me.

It is nice to know we have high-caliber people with the department to serve and protect.
