The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has upgraded its Facebook presence as part of the agency’s ongoing effort to provide the community with as much crime and safety information as possible.
The profile page the agency launched in 2008 is being replaced with a fan page. The new fan page features a broad range of crime and safety news, including videos and information organized in easy to navigate sections. Separate areas are established for youth, cold cases, photos and a welcome section that offers links to the agency’s website, YouTube channel, its www.ccso.tv video Web page and its Twitter account. Another section of the fan page offers downloadable computer wallpaper images.
In addition to providing CCSO with a more broad Facebook platform, the fan page allows the agency to connect with an unlimited number of fans. Facebook limits profile pages to 5,000 friends.
The agency’s profile page will be retired on March 1.
