UPDATE: Three Miami men have been arrested and charged in connection with this home invasion robbery.
Fidel Abel Marrero-Rodriguez, 27; Pedro Louis Herrera, 25; and Yadier Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 27, are each charged with home-invasion robbery while armed and impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Marrero-Rodriguez and Herrera were being booked into the Collier County jail Tuesday afternoon.
Gonzalez-Rodriguez was released from Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, where he was being treated for a gunshot injury connected to the home invasion robbery. He was awaiting transport to the Collier County jail Tuesday afternoon.
Detectives said at least one of the robbers wore a black ball cap with “Police” on his head.
An investigation continues.

3 In Custody After Golden Gate Estates Home Invasion

Three men are in custody after deputies say they conducted an armed robbery at a Golden Gate Estates home Tuesday morning.
A man who lives at the house quickly obtained a gun as the suspects forced their way into the house at 6735 Everglades Blvd. N. shortly before 7:15 a.m. Shots were exchanged and one of the suspects was shot in the shoulder. All of them ran from the house.
Deputies, including K-9 units and aviation units, searched through nearby wooded areas and eventually found the suspects. The injured suspect was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers for treatment.
The occupants of the home were not injured.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
